The Cruise - Louxor to Assouan

One kind of Program :

 

Day 1: Saturday  - LOUXOR

Flight to Louxor from Cairo

Settling in aboard the dahabeya  prior to setting sail. 

Welcome Cocktail. 

Dinner and night on board.

Day 2 : Sunday - LOUXOR

Visits of Valley of the king and Karnak and Luxor temple

Visit of three pharaonics tombs. Lunch in a local Gourna restaurant.

Afternoon, crossing the Nile to visit Karnak, the biggest temple in Egypt, then of Luxor temple.

We will be taking the bus to rejoin the boat to Esna, cause of the lock.

Dinner and night on board.

 

Day 3: Monday - Esna - El Hegz – El Kab – Edfu

Visit of the Temple of Esna.  Temple dedicated to the ram god Knoum.

Lunch on board.

Sailing towards El Kab, one of Egypt's oldest cities (Nekhbet), visit of the temples dedicated to the vulture goddess Nekhbet and the god Ibis, Thot.  Visit of the rock necropolis.

Sailing on to Edfu, dinner and night on board.            

 

Day 4: Tuesday - Edfu, Fawaza, Ramadi – Gebel el Silsila

Wadi el shoat– Maniha

Visit of the Temple of Edfu dedicated to the falcon god, Horus.

Lunch on board. 

Sailing to the Island of Fawaza.  Rest stop.

Dinner and night on board.

 

Day 5: Wednesday  - GEBEL EL SILSILA

 Visit of a sanctuary dedicated to the deified Horemheb dug in the rock and chapel steles dedicated to the Nile.   Visit of the ancient quarry from which the sandstone used in temple construction was extracted.  

Lunch on board

Sailing towards Kom Ombo.

Stop at an small highland for dinner  by candlelight on the island.

With Traditional baladi music and folk dancing.

 

Day 6: Thursday – KOM OMBO

Kom Ombo and a visit of the Ptolemean temple dedicated to the sun god Haroeris and Sobek, the crocodile god (crocodile mummies are still visible near the temple where they were raised. 

Lunch on board

Sailing towards  Aswan.

Dinner and night on board.

 

Day 7: Friday – ASWAN -  Temple of Philae

Visit of the Temple of Philae.  This temple, dedicated to Isis and to Nubian divinities, was saved from the waters of the great dam of the 1960's. Lunch on board or locally

 

Option : ABU SIMBEL : 150€ 

Departure 4OC morning to cross the desert 300km to arrive at Abou Simbel. To visit the temple of Ramses II and Nefertari.

Afternoon : temple of Philae

Return to Cairo through the flight Assouan / cairo by 6oC

SALES CONDITIONS

PRICE FOR THE CRUISE NOT INCLUDED THE FLIGHTS

Rental for the boat, with a maximum capacity of  14 persons is from as per quotation according to the season. Departure confirm for the boat with 6 persons minimum.

The price for the cruise includes full board and non-alcoholic beverages.  Transfers in minibus,  on site guided tours. Tips and Alcoholic beverages are not included.

Prolongation to Aswan is available.  The city of Aswan is one of Egypt's most beautiful, best appreciated at daybreak or at the evening's twilight.  And one absolutely must see the unfinished obelisque, the Tombs of the Nobles. All in an extra day.
